Socialist Register 1969 Preface

Abstract

This is the sixth volume of the Socialist Register and is intended, like its predecessors, to contribute to the debate and discussion of certain major aspects of socialist theory and practice. As we have indicated in previous volumes, it has never been our intention to deal with all the issues that are topical in any particular year; nor would it in any case be possible to do so. We do believe, however, that the essays we are able to publish year by year discuss issues which are of continuing interest and importance. We are much encouraged in this belief by the favourable response which the Register has had from readers in many countries.
