Socialist Register 1972 Preface

Abstract

This is the ninth issue of The Socialist Register. We wish to express our warm thanks to our contributors; to Martin Eve, our publisher, for his valuable help; and to Keith and Barbara Nield for their help in proof-reading. Once again, we should like to stress that the views expressed by any of our contributors are not necessarily shared by the others, or by the Editors. The point is particularly relevant in regard to the essay on Northern Ireland by Anders Boserup. We had hoped to publish a number of essays on Northern Ireland, written from different viewpoints. This, for various reasons, proved impossible; but we are very glad to present in the Register an argument which has not received much attention on the Left in Britain and which, whether one agrees with it or not, deserves serious consideration.
