Socialist Register 1977 Preface

Abstract

In May of this year the Lipman Trust-a socialist educational trust-organised a weekend seminar on the British labour movement and Northern Ireland. The seminar was attended by about 15 people including a number from Ireland and representatives of different political tendencies on the British Left. The three contributions which follow were all presented to the seminar although they have been somewhat re-written for publication. It is hoped to continue the discussions in future seminars as well as further publication in subsequent issues of the Socialist Register.
